Jail solidarity delays deportation from belgium
by sikes Thursday December 13, 2001 at 01:57 AM

The dutch protesters arrested during the CEFIC occupation on D12 delayed their deportation to the Netherlands because their swedich, italian and french comrades would not be sent to the Netherlands as well, although they are residents of this country

when the protesters holding a dutch passport were put on board a travelling to be
shipped to Roosendaal, the first dutch town after the border, they realized that
3 people that had come to brussels with them where missing. these three european
citizens (spain, sweden and france) are residents of the netherlands.

first the group loudly and determinatly demmand to have their friends on the bus
as well. as the belgian police made no move to fullfill the demmand but just
started riding the bus towards the gates of the station, the protesters caused
enough commotion inside the bus to make any further travelling impossible.

they were then brought back to the station were the staged a sitting strike.
the cops then put them back a cell all together with all their equipment.
telephone calls with support lawyers were made. the police was apparently
waiting for a decision from the ministery of foreign affairs on the issue.
through the telephoneand by communicating with the other prisoners by
screaming it was finally decided to give up the strike as a strong enough
statement was made.

the dutch group was then deported to Rosendaal in a convoy of arrestant van with
blu lights flashiung all the way.
