Call for Action
(please spread)

A coalition of Belgian peace-movement organisations invites you to take part in the national torchlight vigil against the War. It will take place at the Muntplein in the centre of Brussels on Friday, November the 9th 2001 at 6:30pm. Torches and white masks will be offered (for a small donation to cover the costs). Coffins shall symbolize the civil victims of the War.

More than ever protest against the War is necessary. The number of civilian victims of the war is growing. The number of refugees increases every day. Many people have already died of starvation. This is unacceptable.

Nevertheless the Belgian chairmanship at the summit in Gent (19th of October) stressed again the support of the EU for the British-US actions.

Since then, our government covers itself with silence, while more and more evidence emerges that the bombardements are not even meeting their declared aims.

The peace-movement has been warning since the start of the military intervention that we risk increasing the spiral of violence in the area. These predictions are already starting to come true in Pakistan.

OUR GOVERNMENTS HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP THE MILITARY ACTIONS.

In solidarity with the victims of violence in the whole world.
Break the spiral of violence
Justice, not revenge
No Belgian participation in war
Development for Disarmament
Respect, stop revenge
