On Sunday 30 August, 2 p.m., Dam square, Amsterdam, The Netherlands big pro-peace meeting; and other peace news

People of over 90 organizations in The Netherlands, united in the "No against the "New War" platform" have decided to have a pro-peace, anti-*all* terror, and anti-xenophobia, big open air meeting on Sunday 30 September. It is at the Dam, the central square of Amsterdam. Time 2 p.m. War, state terror against innocent people, will definitely not solve the private terror against innocent people issue. On this link, photographs of Belgrade 1999 after NATO bombing, next to New York 2001 [a reminder to oppose *all* terrorism, not use the word "anti-terrorism" opportunistically for militarist big power politics]:

On Wednesday 26 September, the Anti War Committee of Leiden, The Netherlands, was active around the sixteenth century city hall, to ask people to go to Amsterdam for the big national peace meeting on September 30. A national daily, Leiden local and West Netherlands regional TV [including their teletext] reported on it. Posters on walls asked: "Is an Afghan life really less precious than a US life?", and reminded of the over a million death in Iraq since the Gulf War. The peace activists' flyers were eagerly received by the shoppers of the open air market around the city hall. A Muslim woman drove up in her wheelchair for a leaflet. As an activist said "No war!", a working class woman with long blonde hair, accepting the flyer, replied: "Exactly!"
