Ci-dessous,
on peut lire une dépêche parvenue hier sur les mailing list, à propos des réactions suite à l'attentat au WTC. Ce qui apparait certain, c'est que des groupes d'agitation très probablement liés à l'extrême-droite, profitent de la situation pour mener des actions contre les Arabes, et les centres musulmans.

Dans ce cadre, la presse officielle (CNN, ABC, chez nous RTBf, France2 et consorts) joue un rôle infâme en laissant entendre que "l'implication des islamistes est évidente". Même si des groupes extrêmistes issus du moyen-orient auraient pu être à l'origine de l'attentat, la presse tente d'opposer délibérément la population non musulmane aux musulmans américains.

Aussi, des revendications gratuites, émanant d'on ne sait où, ont manifestement tenté d'impliquer des groupes politiques de gauche : FPLP et FDLP en Palestine, Armée Rouge japonaise au Japon. Bien des éléments font penser à des méthodes de provocation proche des Renseignements Gouvernementaux, et des groupes de pression fascisants ou carréments fascistes infiltrés au sein des institutions occidentales.

Ainsi, plus que jamais, la prudence est de rigueur. L'enquête (pour autant qu'elle soit sérieuse) n'a pas réellement débuté. Tout pronostic apparait prématuré et dangeureux. Enfin, il n'est pas impossible que les mesures que s'apprêtent à prendre les gouvernements occidentaux nous révèlent dans les mois à venir une machination éléphantesque (le mot est faible !) comme les services américains en ont le goût (dûr à digérer pour la population).

the local abc affiliate just reported about a patriotic march of "300 to
350" flag-waving americans on the local mosque in a far-south-side
neighborhood. there's now a large police presence in an attempt to deter
any
actual violence, although the officer they spoke with said there had been
"small pockets" of "altercations" and there had been arrests. he didn't say
precisely how many people were actually arrested, although it sounded like
possibly half a dozen.

this followed a (live on the scene) report about another pro-american
demonstration somewhere in town (missed exactly where) with people waving
american flags and chanting "USA! USA!" it seems though that the incidents
i
mentioned above might actualyl have happened before the first
"demonstration" i saw a report on.

there was a separate report about concern for safety among muslims and
arab-americans, which included a shot of damage done by a molotov cocktail
to the arab american education center.

i don't want to make more of this than it is, but we have to say this kind
of thing was predictable. presumably there will be stuff in the trib and
suntimes, tomorrow, and we'll have a better sense of what was actually
happening.
